Quinta Vigia, Government residence in Sé, Portugal

Quinta Vigia stands on Avenida do Infante in Funchal, featuring gardens with subtropical plants and native Madeiran flora overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

The estate, initially named Quinta das Angústias due to its 1662 chapel, hosted Queen Adelaide of England and Duke of Leuchtenberg during the 19th century.

The building serves as the official residence of Madeira's Regional Government President since 1984, displaying local artistic works throughout its rooms.

Visitors can access the gardens on weekdays from 8:00 to 18:00, exploring 10,000 square meters of grounds at 40 meters above sea level.

Several European nobility members sought medical treatment at this location, including Princess Maria Amélia of Brazil, who passed away within these walls.
