Quinta Vigia stands on Avenida do Infante in Funchal, featuring gardens with subtropical plants and native Madeiran flora overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The estate spans approximately 10,000 square meters and sits 40 meters above sea level.
The estate was originally known as Quinta das Angustias, named after a chapel from 1662 located on the grounds. During the 19th century it hosted European royalty and nobility.
