Pestana Casino Park

Pestana Casino Park is a hotel and casino complex on Funchal's seafront with distinctive curved concrete architecture spanning multiple levels. The building holds guest rooms, gaming areas, conference facilities, dining venues, and an outdoor pool overlooking the Atlantic.

The building was designed in the 1960s by architects Oscar Niemeyer and Alfredo Viana de Lima, introducing modernist construction methods to the island. Its creation coincided with Madeira's growth as a tourism destination.

The complex shows how international modernist design arrived in Madeira during the 1960s and changed local building styles. Its curved lines and open spaces reflect the design thinking that shaped this period of island development.

The site is easily reachable on foot from downtown Funchal and offers parking for visitors. Different areas within the complex connect through clear signage and direct access routes.
