Santo André Beach, Atlantic beach in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal
Santo André Beach extends along the Portuguese coast with wide stretches of sand bordered by Cape Santo André to the south.
The Capela de Santo André, constructed in the sixteenth century, stands near the beach and remains a central point for maritime celebrations.
Every November 30th, the local fishing community participates in the Festa de Santo André with a traditional walk along the beach sand.
The beach provides supervised swimming areas with lifeguard service from June 15 to September 15, along with accessible facilities for visitors.
Near the chapel stands Penedo do Santo, a rock formation that contains what local tradition identifies as Santo André's footprint.
