Recreational Forest Reserve of Pinhal da Paz

The Pinhal da Paz extends across 49 hectares of land at altitudes between 240 and 330 meters, featuring diverse landscapes and native plant species.

Originally named Mata das Criações, the reserve was inherited by António do Canto Brum, who transformed the volcanic terrain into a cultivated park with pines and ornamental plants.

The forest reserve maintains educational programs and displays that inform visitors about the local ecosystem and environmental conservation methods throughout the marked trails.

Visitors can access 15 kilometers of maintained paths, exercise stations, picnic areas, and parking facilities while exploring the natural surroundings of the reserve.

The reserve contains specialized collection points for rainwater, established during its early development, which continue to support the irrigation of its varied plant species.
