Cultural Palace in Târgu Mureș

The Cultural Palace in Târgu Mureș is an Art Nouveau structure featuring ornate exterior tilework, stained glass windows, and marble staircases spanning three floors. The building houses the State Philharmonic, a county library, an art museum, and several exhibition spaces.

Construction took place between 1911 and 1913 under the leadership of Mayor György Bernády, who hired architects Márcell Komor and Dezső Jakab to design this cultural center. The building emerged during a period when such representative structures were becoming important to the region.

The Hall of Mirrors displays stained glass panels showing traditional village life, family themes, and local folklore through detailed craftsmanship. These artistic details reflect the customs and stories of people from the region.

The building is open to the public and contains multiple institutions that regularly host events and exhibitions throughout the year. Visitors can explore the interior spaces and access the various cultural activities offered there.

The concert hall contains an organ built by the Rieger brothers in 1914 that still plays today, making it a remarkable feature of the building's interior. This instrument represents an important part of the musical heritage preserved within the structure.
