History of Pharmacy Museum

The pharmacy museum occupies a Gothic townhouse from the 16th century and displays medical instruments, ceramic vessels, and apothecary tools from different periods. The collection comprises thousands of objects that document the evolution of pharmaceutical craftsmanship.

This location housed Romania's first pharmacy, founded in the late 15th century. The building itself dates from the 16th century and retains the character of a historical craft workshop.

The museum shows how pharmacists in Central and Eastern Europe worked and prepared medicines over centuries. Visitors can see the daily tools and containers that were used in these craft workshops.

The museum is easy to find in the city center and can be reached on foot from major attractions. Plan to spend about an hour there and ask in advance if guided tours are available.
