Enisala Fortress, Medieval fortress on limestone hill in Tulcea County, Romania.

The stone fortress displays an irregular polygonal layout with walls rising up to 10 meters high, following the natural terrain contours.

Genoese merchants constructed this military outpost in the 14th century to control Black Sea navigation and protect trade routes in the region.

The fortress represents a fusion of military architecture styles, reflecting the presence of Genoese, Wallachian, and Ottoman influences through different periods.

Visitors can access the site Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with entry fees of 10 lei for adults and 5 lei for students.

The strategic position between Razim and Babadag lakes provides views extending to the former seafront, where the Black Sea once reached the fortress walls.
