Museum of Aviation, Aviation museum in Surcin, Serbia.
The Museum of Aviation in Surcin is a modern glass and steel building housing more than 200 aircraft spanning different eras and types. The collection includes military planes, civilian aircraft, helicopters, and engines arranged throughout the facility.
The museum was established in 1957 under the Yugoslav Air Force Command and began as a collection housed at another location. It relocated to its current site at Belgrade Airport in 1989, gaining a purpose-built facility.
The museum documents how aviation shaped Serbian identity through photographs, documents, and personal pilot artifacts spanning from early flight to modern times. Visitors experience the connection between flying and national pride reflected in the displays.
The museum sits near Nikola Tesla Airport and is open to visitors daily with guided tours in multiple languages available. Plan extra time to walk through the buildings, as the aircraft collection is extensive.
The collection includes the world's only surviving Fiat G-50 fighter aircraft, an Italian-made plane from World War II. This rare example represents an extraordinary piece of aviation history preserved here.
