Museum of naive and marginal art in Jagodina

The Museum of Naive and Marginal Art houses a collection of over 3,500 artworks including paintings, sculptures, drawings, and graphics created by roughly 400 artists. The works span different periods and represent diverse forms of artistic expression and creative perspectives.

The institution was founded in 1960 as a gallery for self-taught artists and received its current name focusing on naive art in 1985. A second rename in 2007 expanded its scope to include marginal forms of artistic expression.

The collection showcases works by Serbian artists who developed their skills outside formal art academies, bringing their own distinct voice to their creations. Visitors experience the raw power and directness of this self-taught creativity firsthand.

The permanent exhibition is guided by five professional curators who provide detailed insights into the development of naive art movements. A visit allows you to discover various artistic styles and techniques as they are naturally presented.

The museum has organized over 700 exhibitions since its founding and holds one of the world's largest collections of naive artworks. This extensive exhibition activity demonstrates a deep commitment to continuously presenting and sharing this artistic tradition.
