Temryuk

Temryuk is a port town on the coast of the Sea of Azov in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, sitting at an elevation of 10 meters above sea level. The harbor receives cargo vessels and manages trade flows between coastal areas and inland regions.

The settlement arose as Tumnev, a Tatar fortress taken over by Genoese merchants in the 14th century. In 1860, the place officially gained status as a town.

The local markets display fresh seafood and regional products, while residents maintain traditions through regular community gatherings and maritime celebrations.

Roads connect the town to other places in Krasnodar Krai, and accommodations range from hotels to guesthouses. Visiting during summer allows access to the coast and nearby volcanic formations.

The surroundings hold 25 mud volcanoes, several of which remain active and produce small eruptions. These geological formations attract visitors curious to observe the unusual phenomenon.
