Podolsky District, Municipal district in Moscow Oblast, Russia.
Podolsky District covers 281 square kilometers of land in the southwestern section of Moscow Oblast, featuring numerous rural settlements and communities.
The district emerged as an administrative entity on July 12, 1929, and remained operational until 2015 when its territory merged into Podolsk Urban Okrug.
The district maintains strong connections to Moscow's regional traditions through its network of 75 rural localities and one urban-type settlement.
The district recorded a population of 82,488 residents according to the 2010 census, with 86 percent living in rural areas across the territory.
The district served as the birthplace of sculptor Matthew Chizhov in 1838, in the village of Pudov, contributing to Russian artistic heritage.
