Pribaikalsky National Park, National park in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia
The park stretches along 490 kilometers of Lake Baikal's western coast, from Kultuk village in the south to Cape Kocherikovsky in the north.
The Russian government established the Pribaikalsky National Park on February 13, 1986, during a period of public initiatives to protect Lake Baikal's ecosystem.
The territory serves as a research base for scientific institutions studying Lake Baikal's ecosystem through partnerships with Russian and international organizations.
Visitors must obtain permits for entry, with different rates applying to Russian citizens at 200 rubles and international visitors at 400 rubles per person.
The park contains the largest wintering ground for waterfowl in Eastern Siberia and holds the most extensive collection of rare species in Irkutsk Oblast.
