Pionersky Park, Public park in Kalininsky District, Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Pionersky Park is a public park in the Kalininsky District covering around 12 hectares with walking paths and green spaces between several city streets. The grounds feature trees, lawns, and various areas where people can gather and rest throughout the year.
The park was founded in 1968 on land that once belonged to Prince Abamelek-Lazarev. It stands beside the Academician Sakharov Park, sharing this area's complex past.
The park takes its name from the Pioneer House, a youth center opened in 1973 that provided educational and recreational activities for children in the area. This institution shaped how young people spent their time for many decades.
The park can be entered from several points and sits conveniently near three metro stations: Ploshchad Muzhestva, Politekhnicheskaya, and Lesnaya. Visitors will find the warmer months most comfortable for walking the grounds, when all paths remain clear and accessible.
The park preserves the original 'Sun' monument from its era as a Pioneer gathering place. The former meeting area was later transformed into a modern playground, showing how the space adapted to new uses over time.
