Readowski Park, Protected area in Leninsky District, Smolensk, Russia
Readowski Park is a protected area in Smolensk that covers 116 hectares along the Yasennaya River valley. Dense forests of ash, chestnut, and maple trees fill the landscape with numerous walking paths winding through them.
These lands were once owned by the Read family, Scottish nobility who served the Russian Empire and managed the Belyanovo estate. The park was established later and retains the family name to this day.
The Memorial Hill features a relief displaying soldiers and commemorates those who died during World War II. This site serves as a place where visitors reflect on the region's past.
The park offers 11 kilometers of specialized trails suitable for bicycles, roller skates, or skis depending on the season. Visitors should wear appropriate footwear and be prepared for changing ground conditions.
The site contains a natural spring and pond that becomes a swimming spot in summer and a skiing route in winter. This seasonal transformation makes the water feature one of the park's most interesting aspects.
