Chusovaya River Nature Park

Chusovaya River Nature Park is a protected area along the Chusovaya River spanning three regions and characterized by forests, cliffs, and river valleys. The park features numerous rock formations along the riverbank, woodlands, and an ethnographic museum with restored historic structures.

From the 16th century onward, the Chusovaya River served as a vital trade route for metals and coal from local mining operations. Railway expansion in the 19th century gradually reduced the importance of river transport in the region.

The Ethnographic Museum in the park displays 19th-century houses and workshops that show how miners and their families lived in this region. The buildings and objects on display give visitors a sense of daily life and work from that era.

Visitors can hike along the river, go rafting, or observe wildlife while exploring the area's rock formations and forests. It is helpful to bring appropriate gear and check current access conditions before planning your visit.

The park is home to diverse animal species including moose, brown bears, and wolves that coexist among pine, larch, birch, and willow forests in the same area. This rare coexistence of large predators and prey in one protected space makes the park an important wildlife sanctuary for the region.
