The Old English Court, Historic site in Tverskoy District, Moscow, Russia
The Old English Court stands as a stone mansion from the 16th century, featuring white walls and wooden roofs near the eastern side of the Kremlin.
English merchants received this building from Ivan the Terrible in 1556, establishing it as the first English trading post and diplomatic mission in Russia.
The museum exhibits display artifacts and information about the early trade connections between England and Russia during the 1500s and 1600s.
The museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM, with guided tours explaining the building's history.
The Main Hall contains specific acoustic properties that make it suitable for Renaissance and Baroque musical performances on period instruments.
