The Cherdyn Museum contains extensive collections of archaeological artifacts, historical documents, and ethnographic materials representing the Cherdyn district and surrounding regions.
Founded in 1899 through the efforts of local intellectuals, the museum started as an educational institution named after Alexander Pushkin and merged with another museum in 1918.
The museum exhibits traditional crafts, religious wooden sculptures, and artifacts that illustrate the daily lives of indigenous peoples from the Cherdyn region.
The museum complex spans 1.46 hectares across five buildings, including the main building in the former District Council premises and an exhibition hall in a former girls' gymnasium.
The numismatic collection features Russian imperial coins and international currency, despite losing many pieces during events in 1919.
