Yugskaya Dorofeeva Pustyn

Yugskaya Dorofeeva Pustyn is an Orthodox monastery in Rybinsky District built at the confluence of two rivers. The complex contained multiple churches and served as a medical center that treated patients from surrounding communities.

A monk from another monastery founded this site in the early 1600s after receiving a calling to establish a new spiritual community. The monastery rapidly grew into an important religious center that influenced the surrounding region for centuries.

The monastery served as a pilgrimage destination where visitors came to venerate a sacred icon housed within its walls. The site drew faithful from across the region who sought spiritual comfort and blessing at this holy place.

The site is difficult to reach and located in a remote setting far from major towns. Visitors should prepare for challenging terrain and limited infrastructure in the area.

The monastery once housed a highly venerated sacred image that drew pilgrims from distant places. This icon was later moved elsewhere and replaced with a copy, which fundamentally changed the site's spiritual significance.
