Փոքրապատկեր Ղրիմը, Miniature park in Alushta, Crimea
The park "Crimea in Miniature" is an outdoor exhibition in Alushta displaying 45 landscape models of the main historical, cultural and architectural landmarks of Crimea at a scale of 1:25. The models include the Khan's Palace in Bakhchisaray, the Swallow's Nest in Gaspra, the Massandra Palace, the Genoese fortress in Sudak and the Livadia Palace in Yalta.
The park opened in summer 2012, with work on the models taking two years. It was one of seven winners of the Kaleidoscope of Wonders of Crimea competition, in the category "7 Modern Wonders of Crimea". The exhibition was planned to grow from 45 models to 65.
The miniature replicas show religious buildings, fortresses, castles, and palaces that reflect the regional construction styles found across the peninsula. Visitors can compare the different architectural approaches and their distinctive features side by side.
The park is at 4 Gorky Street in Alushta, a short walk from the city's central embankment. The 45 models are set out in the open air, so plan a visit of about an hour to see them all and read the panels. The site is flat and step-free, making it easy to move around with a stroller or wheelchair.
Each model includes information panels with historical details and technical specifications of the original building. These details allow visitors to learn more about the architecture and function of each structure displayed.
