Кучук-Ламбатская бухта, Coastal cove in Alushta, Crimea.
Kuchuk-Lambat Cove is a sheltered bay along the southern shore of Crimea with towering cliffs and deep waters that create a natural harbor. The cove extends in front of Cape Plaka and features steep rocky formations that frame the water.
The cove served as an important anchorage for vessels across multiple centuries, which is evident from the archaeological remains of several shipwrecks discovered there. Among these are fragments of a vessel from the 7th century and another from the 10th to 11th centuries.
The area connects to the former Gagarin family estate, featuring a palace designed by architect Nikolai Petrovich Krasnov in the late 19th century.
The cove is easiest to reach from nearby Alushta, with several paths leading down to the shore from the clifftop. The best time to visit is from spring through autumn when calmer conditions make swimming and exploration more pleasant.
Cape Plaka, which bounds the cove, is an unusual geological formation made of volcanic rock that extends into the sea like a ridge. This laccolith structure is rare to encounter and makes the location especially interesting for those curious about geology.
