Toilet on Gazetny, Public restroom on Gazetniy Lane, Rostov-on-Don, Russia
The two-level underground restroom facility occupies the basement of building number 46 at the intersection of Gazetniy Lane and Bolshaya Sadovaya Street.
Originally a poets' café in the early 1900s, the space became a casino during German occupation and transformed into a public restroom in April 1945.
The venue hosted the first performance of poet Velimir Khlebnikov in August 1920 and later presented his play 'The Death's Mistake'.
The facility operates around the clock and remains the central public restroom in downtown Rostov-on-Don, serving both residents and visitors.
In 1988, the location transformed into an art space when it hosted the Provincial Avant-garde exhibition by the Rostov art association.
