Al Kharj Tower is a water tower and tourist destination that rises approximately 105 meters with a pyramid-shaped structure made of reinforced concrete. The building contains a rotating restaurant that slowly turns to offer views across the entire city.

The project was awarded in 1981 under King Khalid to an international company for 116 million riyals, with a 24-month schedule. Work continued under King Fahd, and the tower was completed in 1986 (1406 AH) at a total cost of about 103 million riyals.

The tower serves as a meeting place where people gather at the rotating restaurant to share meals and view the city. It has become part of local life as a spot where residents and visitors spend time together high above the streets.

The tower stands on King Abdulaziz Road in Al-Saih, the seat of Al Kharj governorate. Its basement level, which houses the control and monitoring systems, was flooded during the torrents that struck Al Kharj in 1424 AH, damaging electronic and fire-fighting equipment. Visitors should keep this in mind when planning a look at the lower floors.
