Hötorget buildings, High-rise architectural ensemble in Norrmalm, Stockholm, Sweden
The five identical towers measuring 61 meters in height feature glass and aluminum curtain walls, creating a modern commercial center in central Stockholm.
Between 1955 and 1962, architects Sven Markelius and David Helldén led the construction of these 19-story buildings during Stockholm's major urban transformation period.
The collection of five buildings received the name 'The Five Trumpet Blasts' from city council member Yngve Larsson to symbolize the urban progress.
Four of the five structures contain office spaces, while the surrounding ground level accommodates retail stores and pedestrian passages.
Each of the five towers required different architects to design them, resulting in similar structures with distinct facade variations.
