Angered

Angered is a residential district in northern Gothenburg covering approximately 1.6 square kilometers (0.6 square miles). The area consists of housing blocks and features a central shopping district with shops and services.

The district was developed in the 1960s and 1970s as part of Sweden's major housing programme that created new homes for growing cities. It transformed former farmland into a residential neighborhood to meet urban population needs.

The district is home to several sports clubs, including the women's ice hockey team Göteborg HC and various football clubs. These organizations shape local social life and serve as gathering places for residents.

The district is well-connected by public transport, including three tram lines and numerous bus routes to central Gothenburg. Angered Centrum station is the main hub where most transportation lines stop or pass through.

Angereds Centrum is the heart of the district and serves not only as a shopping center but also as a key social gathering spot for the entire community. Many residents spend leisure time there and use its various offerings for daily activities.
