AtmosFear, Drop tower at Liseberg, Sweden.
The steel tower reaches 116 meters into the sky above Gothenburg, offering views of the city before dropping passengers at 110 kilometers per hour.
The structure originated as Lisebergstornet observation tower in 1990, then underwent transformation into AtmosFear, which started operations in April 2011.
The addition of this vertical ride marked a shift in Swedish entertainment parks toward more intense experiences, attracting visitors seeking strong physical sensations.
Riders must measure between 140 and 195 centimeters tall, and the attraction processes 600 passengers every hour using magnetic braking systems.
The passenger gondola releases from its catch mechanism at the summit, subjecting riders to forces of 4G during the rapid descent.
