Helix, Launched roller coaster at Liseberg, Sweden
Helix is a steel roller coaster at Liseberg that reaches heights of about 41 meters over a track spanning 1,381 meters. The ride includes several inversions that turn riders upside down at different points along the course.
The park announced plans for this multi-launch roller coaster in October 2012. Construction began in October 2013 on a rocky hill within the park grounds.
The name refers to the spiral shape of the track that winds through space like a helix. Visitors can clearly feel and observe this signature twisting motion throughout their ride.
Riders must be at least 130 centimeters tall to experience the coaster. The ride operates with three trains, each carrying 20 passengers in a two-by-two seating arrangement.
The track features special elements including a Norwegian loop, a pretzel knot, a top hat, and two corkscrews. These combinations create a series of distinct twists and rotations that feel different from typical roller coaster movements.
