Slemenova špica

Slemenova špica is a mountain summit in the Julian Alps standing at 1,911 meters (6,272 feet). The trail winds through forests and high meadows to reach the peak.

The mountain became known as a filming location for the 1951 Slovenian film Kekec. This association with cinema established its role in national film history.

The round trip hike from Vršič Pass takes three to four hours with around 350 meters (1,150 feet) of elevation gain. Marked paths guide hikers for the entire route.

The summit offers views of surrounding peaks with direct sightlines to Jalovec and the Mojstrovka mountain group. Small lakes called modra očesca nearby once served as pastures tended by local shepherds until recently.
