Planina Prevala

Planina Prevala is a mountain dairy on the southeastern slope of Begunjščica, sitting at about 1311 meters and offering views toward the Julian Alps. The site has indoor seating for about 12 people and outdoor space for about 50 visitors.

The area preserves traces from World War II, including a bunker and the former Ljubelj Labour Camp from 1943 to 1945. These remnants tell the story of what the region experienced during that period.

The dairy here serves traditional Slovenian dishes like zganci with sour milk and jota with sausage, all made from local ingredients. Visitors can enjoy these meals on site while experiencing the region's food-making traditions.

Access comes through marked trails starting from Podljubelj, and the route passes through the Born Tunnel. You should bring a headlamp because this 200-meter tunnel from 1891 requires light for safe passage.
