Phu Chong-Na Yoi National Park, National park in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand
Phu Chong-Na Yoi National Park is a protected forest area on the eastern edge of the Dângrêk Mountains along the Laos and Cambodia borders. The terrain consists of dense forests, hilly areas, and multiple waterfalls and streams that cut through natural rock formations and gorges.
The park was established in 1987 to protect the forest ecosystems in this border region. Its creation marked a commitment to preserving the natural environment of the mountainous area.
The villages bordering the park maintain farming traditions and gather forest resources using methods passed down through generations. Local life remains closely tied to the seasonal rhythms and natural cycles of the mountainous region.
The park is accessible via paved roads leading to several entry points with camping areas, restrooms, and water facilities. The best time to visit is during cooler months when walking through the forest trails is more comfortable.
The Bak Teo Yai Waterfall drops around 40 meters through the forest canopy creating dramatic views, while the Huai Luang Stream has carved out hidden cave systems and rock chambers. These secret grottos are not widely advertised but offer unexpected exploration opportunities for curious visitors.
