Chatuchak, Administrative district in northern Bangkok, Thailand.
Chatuchak is an administrative district in northern Bangkok covering approximately 33 square kilometers. The area features three major parks—Chatuchak Park, Queen Sirikit Park, and Wachirabenchathat Park—that together form a connected green space.
The area became an independent administrative district in 1989 when it separated from Bang Khen district. This split was made to better manage the growing population and evolving needs of the expanding city.
The district is home to several universities including Kasetsart University, Sripatum University, and Chandrakasem Rajabhat University, which shape the academic life and energy of the area. These institutions draw thousands of students daily and influence how the community feels and functions throughout the week.
The district connects well to central Bangkok through several transit options including the MRT Blue Line, BTS Skytrain, and railway stations. Using public transportation makes it easy to navigate between different areas of the district.
The district houses the headquarters of major organizations including Thai Airways International and the Department of National Parks. These important institutions are based here and give the area additional significance beyond its residential and academic character.
