Walk of Health

The 36-kilometer concrete pathway stretches along the Kopet Dag mountain range, featuring two sections with different lengths and multiple rest pavilions.

President Saparmurat Niyazov initiated the construction of this trail in 1999, requiring government ministers to complete an annual walk until his death.

Bronze statues of desert animals and celestial figures line the path, while an octagonal Seljuk star motif decorates the fences and structures.

The path includes metal safety fences on both sides and street lighting for evening walks, with refreshment kiosks located at the 8-kilometer mark.

The trail reaches an elevation of 1,293 meters, marked by a flagpole displaying the Turkmenistan flag at its highest point.
