Essaada Palace, Palace and listed monument in La Marsa, Tunisia

The Essaada Palace combines French, Italian, and Spanish-Moorish architectural elements throughout its interior and exterior structural design.

Naceur Bey commissioned this palace for his wife Lalla Kmar, who maintained ownership until her death in 1942.

The palace temporarily served as a residence for Tunisia's first president Habib Bourguiba before he relocated to the presidential palace in Carthage.

The building currently functions as the municipal headquarters of La Marsa, offering guided tours to visitors during regular business hours.

Queen Elizabeth II stayed at this palace during her visit to Tunisia when it operated as a state guest residence.
