Çubuk-1 Dam, Gravity dam in Ankara Province, Turkey
The Çubuk-1 Dam spans 900 meters in length and reaches a height of 25 meters, utilizing 120,000 cubic meters of concrete from regional volcanic rock.
The construction of Çubuk-1 Dam, completed in 1936, marked Turkey's first concrete dam project and was inaugurated by President Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The Turkish Chamber of Civil Engineers recognizes this infrastructure among the 50 most notable engineering achievements throughout the entire country.
Located 12 kilometers north of central Ankara, the dam serves dual purposes of flood prevention and drinking water supply for the surrounding population.
The dam features a distinctive circular axis measuring 200 meters, which enhances its structural stability and resistance against water pressure.
