Hatay Archaeology Museum, Archaeological museum in Antakya, Turkey.
The Hatay Archaeology Museum displays thousands of square meters of Roman and Byzantine mosaics across 19 exhibition halls in a modern building complex.
The museum first opened in 1948 under Turkish control, following its initial construction in 1934 by French archaeologist Claude M. Prost during the French mandate period.
The museum exhibits the massive basalt statue of King Šuppiluliuma with Luwian inscriptions, representing the Late Hittite Kingdom's artistic achievements.
The museum operates daily from 8:30 to 19:00 in summer and 8:30 to 17:00 in winter, with an entrance fee of 65 Turkish Lira for adult visitors.
The collection includes ancient pointed skulls from the Middle Chalcolithic Period, demonstrating a 4000-year-old cranial modification practice that continues in parts of Africa.
