Iğdır

Iğdır is a provincial capital in eastern Turkey, positioned at the meeting point of borders with Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Iran. Agriculture defines the region, with cotton and various fruits grown year-round thanks to the local climate and geography.

The region has been settled since ancient times, but took its current form in 1992 when it became a separate province, splitting away from Kars. This administrative change shaped how the city developed as a modern urban center.
