Bursa Clock Tower

The Tophane Clock Tower reaches 33 meters in height with six levels and features clocks on each of its four faces measuring 90 centimeters in diameter.

Built between 1904 and 1905, this clock tower replaced an earlier structure from Sultan Abdulaziz period that stood at the same location until the early 1900s.

The tower represents the architectural developments during the reign of Sultan Abdulhamid II, combining traditional Ottoman design elements with Baroque influences.

Visitors can climb the wooden staircase with 89 steps to access different levels of the tower while also serving as a fire observation station.

The tower contains both traditional mechanical timepieces and modern electronic clocks, maintaining its original function while adapting to contemporary needs.
