Yıldırım Complex

The Yıldırım Complex is an Ottoman architectural ensemble in Bursa comprising a mosque with a distinctive covered entrance hall, an educational building for Islamic studies, and a tomb structure. All components feature detailed stonework and decorative elements throughout their construction.

The complex was founded in 1390 by Sultan Bayezid I and represents a turning point in early Ottoman architectural development. This establishment demonstrated new ideas about combining religious and educational functions within a single coordinated design.
