Tohma Bridge

The Tohma Bridge extends 517.5 meters across the Karakaya Dam reservoir, connecting the provinces of Malatya and Sivas through State road D.875.

The construction of Tohma Bridge began in 2018 under Ziver İnşaat and PYES companies, reaching completion with its official inauguration on February 6, 2021.

The bridge bears the name Martyr Gaffar Güneş Bridge, maintaining the Turkish tradition of commemorating national figures through infrastructure dedications.

The structure incorporates seismic base isolators at both ends and features two lanes in each direction, accommodating regular traffic flow between Eastern Anatolia and the Black Sea Region.

Engineers utilized the incremental launch method to construct this box girder bridge, incorporating 12,000 cubic meters of concrete and 2,700 tons of steel for the girders.
