Chiayi Confucian Temple, Confucian temple in East District, Taiwan
The Chiayi Confucian Temple features traditional Chinese architectural elements with reinforced concrete structures within the grounds of Chiayi Park.
Established in 1706 as Chiayi County School, the temple underwent multiple reconstructions due to natural disasters, including a significant earthquake in 1907.
The temple maintains traditional Confucian ceremonies, with the annual Confucius Memorial Ceremony taking place on September 28 to honor educational values.
Located at 264 Qiming Road, the temple welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Sunday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM throughout the year.
This temple differs from other Taiwanese Confucian temples through its minimalist interior design and reinforced concrete construction from 1961.
