Built between 1898 and 1906 during Japanese rule, this complex originally housed agricultural research workers and government officials. The facility grew from the administration's push to modernize farming methods in the region.
The buildings show a blend of Japanese and Western architectural styles that reflects the historical period when this place was built. Walking through the grounds, you notice how the northern structures lean toward Western design while the southern ones display Japanese characteristics.
The site is located on Fudong Street in the East District and is open daily except Wednesdays. You can walk at your own pace through the restored buildings and grounds to explore the layout and see how different sections connect.
One restored building now operates as Naliang House, a space serving contemporary cultural purposes, while another functions as the Minakami Town Cultural Exchange Hall. These new roles demonstrate how the old structures continue to serve the community in unexpected ways.
