Dongshan River Water Park, Water park in Wujie Township, Taiwan
Dongshan River Water Park is a recreational area on the banks of the Dongshan River in Wujie Township, Taiwan. The grounds feature open lawns, play areas, and walking paths along the water, with several spaces designed for families and children.
The park opened in 1993 as part of a plan to develop tourism in Yilan County. Over the following years it grew into a well-known venue for regional festivals and public events.
The park hosted the Yilan International Children's Folklore and Folkgame Festival for many years, bringing together children from different countries to share traditional games and customs. Even today, the site draws local families who come on weekends to spend time outdoors together.
The site is located near Dongshan train station, making it easy to reach on foot from there. Most days you can walk around freely without special preparation, though weekends tend to be busier.
The park borders a wetland area that is home to many bird species, making it a quiet spot for birdwatching alongside the water activities. Herons and other water birds are often seen along the riverbanks in the early morning and late afternoon.
