Green World Ecological Farm, Ecological farm in Beipu Township, Taiwan
Green World Ecological Farm is a nature reserve spread across 70 hectares with six distinct zones, each focusing on different ecosystems and wildlife. The areas named Swan Lake, Discovery Land, Water Plants Park, Bird Park, Butterfly Park, and Biodiversity Adventure Area are arranged throughout the property for visitors to explore.
Construction began in 1999 and the site opened to visitors on May 1, 2004, drawing 800,000 guests during its first year of operation. This rapid early success established it as a popular destination for nature enthusiasts in the region.
The park incorporates a traditional Hakka residential complex called Kao Ping Tong, where you can see how families lived in this region generations ago. The buildings show the architectural style that Hakka communities developed over time in this area.
The farm is accessible by Taiwan High Speed Rail to Hsinchu Station, followed by the Lion's Head Mountain Route 5700 bus service. Wear comfortable walking shoes since the grounds are extensive and exploration involves moving through different areas on foot.
The Water Plants Park section houses more than 500 species of aquatic plants, making it a specialized focus of the reserve. An education center on site allows visitors to learn more about the diversity of these water-based ecosystems.
