Shalun Seaside Resort, Beach resort in Tamsui, Taiwan
The expansive sandy beach of Shalun extends along the coastline where the Tamsui River meets the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
During Japanese occupation, Shalun Beach developed into a recreational facility, later serving as a training ground during the Martial Law period.
The beach area connects to the Luye Equestrian Center, where visitors can observe horses walking along the shoreline throughout the day.
Access to Shalun Beach requires taking the Taipei MRT to Hongshulin Station and transferring to the Blue Coastal Line of Danhai LRT.
The beach closed to swimming in 1999 due to safety concerns, yet remains a location for sunbathing and beach activities near Taipei.
