Dapeng Bay Bridge, Road bridge in Pingtung County, Taiwan
Dapeng Bay Bridge is a cable-stayed structure spanning approximately 579 meters across the bay waters to link two neighborhoods on opposite shores. Its distinctive cable design creates a recognizable silhouette visible from many points around the bay.
The bridge opened in 2011 and established the first direct road connection across the bay waters. This project significantly improved transportation links in the region.
The bridge connects communities on either side of the bay, reducing travel time between neighborhoods and opening new routes to local shops and gathering spaces.
The bridge operates on seasonal schedules that vary between weekdays and weekends. Plan ahead to confirm operating hours before your visit.
The structure lifts up to 75 degrees to create a gap of roughly 20 meters, allowing boats to pass through underneath. This moving mechanism serves boat traffic while keeping the road accessible for vehicles.
