Hsinchu Taiwan Pavilion Expo Park

The Hsinchu Taiwan Pavilion Expo Park is a four-story exhibition building shaped like a sky lantern, housing multiple spaces for different activities. Inside, visitors find a City Theme Hall for exhibitions, a Sky Lantern Platform with viewing areas, and a Sky Theater with a large screen display.

The building was originally created as an exhibition pavilion for the Shanghai World Expo in 2010. After that event, the Hsinchu City Government purchased and relocated it, reopening the space in 2013 for local visitors.

The building takes the shape of a traditional sky lantern, representing wishes and hopes of Taiwanese people. This design choice shapes how visitors experience the space and its cultural meaning as soon as they enter.

The building connects directly to an attached shopping mall with free access to the first two floors. Theater shows and some exhibition areas require separate admission tickets, and it is wise to check opening hours ahead of your visit.

The Sky Theater features a massive curved screen that provides an immersive viewing experience from multiple angles around the room. The combination of 4D effects and surround sound creates an experience that goes beyond a typical film presentation.
