Da Shu Gong of Taichung Port, Sacred tree near Taichung Port, Taiwan.

Da Shu Gong is a large Ficus superba specimen located along Lingang Road in Wuqi District, characterized by its sprawling branches and thick canopy. The tree occupies a significant footprint in the surrounding landscape, making it visibly distinct from the industrial surroundings.

The tree was already established before Taichung Port's construction in 1976, standing witness to the port's development from its earliest stages. As industrial growth transformed the area around it, it remained a constant landmark through the region's changes.

Local residents honor this tree by leaving offerings at its base, dedicating them to Tudigong, the Earth God in Taiwanese spiritual belief. The practice reflects how the community views the tree as a sacred space woven into their everyday spiritual life.

The tree can be reached easily via Provincial Highways 12, 17, and 61, and serves as a natural landmark near the port area. Keep in mind that the surroundings are quite flat with limited shade outside the tree's canopy during midday hours.

The tree provides habitat and food for various local bird and insect species within its expansive canopy and branching structure. This ecological role transforms it into more than a prayer site, serving as an active sanctuary within the industrial port zone.
