Lee Tze-Fan Memorial Art Gallery, Art gallery in East District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan.
The Lee Tze-Fan Memorial Art Gallery occupies the third floor of a reconstructed building and displays original watercolor paintings, studio objects, and personal items belonging to the artist. The space gives visitors a direct sense of how he worked and what he kept around him.
The gallery was established in 1994 to preserve the legacy of painter Lee Tze-Fan, who developed a distinctive technique in watercolor painting. His work marked a shift from socially conscious subjects to more abstract forms of expression.
The collection features watercolor landscapes showing natural scenes and buildings from different regions of Taiwan, reflecting how the artist perceived and interpreted his surroundings.
Visits are possible on weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with spaces that are easy to navigate through. Plan about one to one and a half hours for a relaxed walk through the display.
The father of Nobel Prize winner Lee Yuan-Tseh was himself a respected painter whose personal tools and diaries are on display here. This connection to a globally known scientific family makes the place particularly interesting to many visitors.
