Fubon Sky Tree, Residential skyscraper in West District, Taichung, Taiwan.
Fubon Sky Tree is a residential tower in Taichung that rises 155 meters with 39 floors above ground and four basement levels. The structure uses glass facades paired with stone walls and a double-layered exterior design to reduce energy consumption.
Construction of the tower began in 2013 and finished in 2016, reflecting Taichung's rapid urban development during that period. The project represents the city's shift toward modern residential architecture.
Japanese architect Toyoo Ito applied his design philosophy by incorporating natural elements into the building's structure, resembling tree branches and canopies.
The building includes residential units with amenities such as a swimming pool and banquet hall located on the upper floors. Visitors can appreciate the exterior from the surrounding streets, as it is a private residential complex.
The facade features irregular patterns that mirror organic tree structures, with large glass windows connecting interior spaces to outdoor gardens. This design philosophy was created by Japanese architect Toyoo Ito to blend natural forms into contemporary living.
