Rende Detention Basin

Rende Detention Basin is a stormwater management facility in Rende Village with a circular design that channels water during heavy rainfall. The structure includes multiple drainage passages to guide and store water flow across the site.

The site was built in 2015 to replace an outdated concrete drainage canal with improved flood protection methods. New excavation techniques enhanced the ability to store and manage stormwater.

Local residents participate in educational programs about water management, learning about the relationship between urban development and flood prevention systems.

The facility is best viewed after rainfall or during wet periods when water actively flows through the channels. The site is visible from the perimeter and can be observed on foot, though interior access is not arranged for general visitors.

The basin uses specialized geosynthetic materials throughout to prevent soil erosion and maintain long-term stability of the structure. This technical approach demonstrates how modern water management systems are engineered in Taiwan.
