Oleksandrivka

Oleksandrivka is an urban-type settlement in Mykolaiv Oblast situated on the left bank of the Southern Bug river. The location contains a hydroelectric power station that plays a key role in the region's infrastructure and water supply network.

The settlement was founded in 1774 and remained a rural community for nearly two centuries. It gained its urban-type status in 1968, marking its transformation into a modern supply and infrastructure center for the region.

The settlement's identity is tied to the hydroelectric station that has shaped its economic life for generations. Local residents balance agricultural heritage with employment connected to this industrial infrastructure that defines daily life here.

The settlement is accessible via roads P-06 and P-75 that connect it to neighboring areas. The warmer months offer the best conditions for exploring the river areas and observing the local landscape.

Within the reservoir of the hydroelectric station sits the Oleksandrivskyi ichthyological reserve, which protects local fish populations. The surrounding area also contains granite quarries that have shaped the region's economic activities.
